Become a reviewer

Reviewers are the people who check whether an initiative's disclosed governance structure actually matches its public claim. They are themselves visible, themselves accountable, and themselves replaceable.

Requirements

  • 01

    Verified identity (L2 on your profile)

    Reviewers cannot be anonymous. Authority on GROUNDWORK is always attached to a real person, on the public record.

  • 02

    No active sanction or open manipulation report

    If there is an unresolved manipulation report against you, your application is paused until it is decided.

  • 03

    Declared expertise domain

    Cooperative law, NGO governance, a specific jurisdiction, accounting, etc. We do not reward generalists — we reward people who know one thing well.

  • 04

    Accept the code of conduct in full

    The code below is not a vibe. Violations are grounds for revocation, in public.

How a review works

  1. 01 · An initiative requests verification at a specific level (L1–L5).
  2. 02 · The request lands in the public verification queue.
  3. 03 · A reviewer with no conflict reads the disclosed governance fields, ownership distribution, amendment rules, and supporting evidence.
  4. 04 · The reviewer writes a substantive decision note explaining what was checked and what is missing — never a one-word verdict.
  5. 05 · The decision is attributed to the reviewer by name on their public reviewer page.
  6. 06 · If denied, the initiative can file one appeal. A different reviewer must decide it. The original reviewer is structurally barred from the appeal.

Code of conduct

Applying means accepting every line below, in public.

  • 01I will not review initiatives I have any financial, family, or organizational stake in.
  • 02I will not decide an appeal on a verification I originally decided.
  • 03I will write a substantive note on every decision — never just approve or deny.
  • 04I will judge the disclosed governance structure, not the cause, the brand, or the founder.
  • 05I will not coordinate with other reviewers off-platform to influence a pending decision.
  • 06I accept that every decision I make is public, attributed to me by name, and permanent.
  • 07I will recuse myself the moment a conflict appears, even if no one else has noticed it.
